The Wizard is finally being released on DVD.
How badass is that? I was *just* looking for this movie, &
since even Netflix didn't have it, I thought I'd be forced to track it
down on VHS.
But the DVD gods have spoken.
"I love the Power Glove--it's so bad."
Seriously. Watching this movie in the theater, seeing Super
Mario 3 for the first time--the glory and wonder of the raccoon tail!--and learning that retarded kids can hitchhike their way to victory . . . what could ever compare?
You need to see this movie. Forget Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club--this is a piece of 80s film history--not to mention the only video game wish-fulfillment fantasy ever made.
And yes, that redheaded girl is Jenny Lewis from Rilo Kiley.
